A Tibetan Mastiff placement should be thoughtful, not rushed.

This application was built to match the Magnolia Heritage process and to help start an honest conversation. The goal is not simply to collect contact information. The goal is to understand whether our breed, our program, and a future puppy may be the right fit for your household.

Please answer as completely as you can. There are no perfect answers, but clear, realistic answers help us make better decisions for our dogs and puppy families.

If you rent, have an HOA, or have insurance restrictions, are large guardian breeds allowed at your home? Describe your fencing, gates, yard, acreage, or outdoor setup. Do all adults in the household want a Tibetan Mastiff and understand the breed’s guardian temperament?

Dog and breed experience Have you owned a Tibetan Mastiff or another guardian breed before? Tell us about your current and previous dogs, including breed, age, temperament, and whether they still live with you. Please tell us about other pets in your household. Have you ever rehomed, surrendered, returned, or euthanized a dog for behavioral or lifestyle reasons? If yes, please explain the circumstances. This does not mean your application will not be considered as we understand that situations can arise that are beyond your control. What attracts you to the Tibetan Mastiff, and what concerns or questions do you still have about the breed? What training methods or trainers have you used before, and what approach do you plan to use with a Tibetan Mastiff?

Lifestyle and expectations Describe a typical weekday in your household, including work schedule and how long a dog would be alone. Where would the puppy sleep and spend time during the day? How do you plan to train, socialize, and manage a large independent guardian breed? How will you manage barking, nighttime alertness, visitors, delivery drivers, neighbors, and guests? Are you prepared for barking, seasonal coat, slow maturity, independence, and protective instincts?
