Welcome to Magnolia Heritage Tibetan Mastiffs!

By Michelle · July 2026

We are so glad you're here! My name is Michelle, and I'm excited to share this amazing breed, as well as our story, with you.

I grew up an only child on a small beef cattle ranch in the Ozarks. My parents were both teachers as well as farmers, and they indulged me by allowing me to nurture every one of God's creatures that I could get my hands on. If it ran, slithered, crawled, hopped, or flew, I was fascinated. When I turned 8, my mother introduced me to 4-H and she didn't bat an eye when I chose "Dairy Goats" to be my project. I did extra chores, saved my allowance, and purchased my first baby goat all on my own. That, my friends, is how my journey began...

I went on to show and raise livestock at the local county fair throughout my school years, later joining FFA as well. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Animal Science in 1995. I was never without a pet, and purchased my first purebred dog as an adult right after my college graduation. That puppy was a Siberian Husky, and I realized quickly that I needed help training her. When she and I finished her obedience training, I realized that I had learned more from the trainer than my puppy had...I had learned how to train not only this dog, but every dog I would ever live with.

April 22, 2023

This is one of the most important dates in my life, outside of marrying my husband Brad, and the birth of our son Faris. This is the day that I sent a puppy application to Debbie Mayer at Noble Legacy Tibetan Mastiffs.

Training With Kim Sykes

Although Michelle had trained many dogs, Zaya was her first guardian breed and her first dog-show partner. Kim Sykes at K9 Manners & More became the trusted trainer who helped them begin that journey.
